The cityTLD string can either consists of latin characters like .berlin or might contain non-latin scripts like Chinese, Cyrillic, Arabic or Hebrew. cityTLDs may become a separate class of TLDs, compared to the generic (gTLDs) and country code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs), but they are currently classified as gTLDs by ICANN.
